Dog diabetes
Warning signs of a diabetic dog is loss of weight, frequent, sometimes uncontrollable urination, and an increase in appetite and thirst.
Owners of diabetic dogs must test their dog’s blood sugar level twice a day, and if it’s too high, they must wait and re-test until the level is right for an insulin shot.
The owner needs to be aware it’s an obligation.
The alternative is giving the dog up for adoption. The No. 1 cause for pet euthanasia is diabetes.
