Adding Apples
It’s time to enjoy pleasant strolls through abundant apple orchards in the crisp autumn air. Even if there’s not a grove nearby, make sure to take your pick of this great fruit at the market for a nutritious source of fiber, antioxidants, and vitamin C. Studies show those who eat 2 apples a day have a lower risk of heart disease and asthma, lose weight more easily, and have increased digestive function.
Apples also are a delicious addition to many recipes. Be sure to wash them thoroughly to remove pesticide residue, and choose 100% apple juice with no added sugars or pasteurized cider.
